Post number 100 is a Mary post :-)
Birmingham was the BEST weekend since Bournemouth and in some respects better. This time it was just Christina and me, which meant we could dedicate ALL our time to the fellow fangirls. We haven’t been able to do that on the last two trips.
Memorabilia was different than other cons I’ve been to – It was basically one huge dealer’s room with guests and panels and food and snacks and vendors all in the same room. That meant it was noisy and that did disturb some of the panels – but, hey, we made the best of it.
Mary’s table was next to this big Universal Pictures display that ran the same trailer show over and over again….ALL DAY – with the same 5 or 6 trailers, very loudly. Ironically that was the only place to sit down in the entire hall, so we hung out there.
I have no idea how Mary stood it those two days – at least the rest of us could go somewhere else :-)
I found it so random that Mary knew one of the songs was a Jefferson Airplane song - a personal little tidbit from her :-)
The SFBall was there with a booth, selling the Mary DVD from Bournemouth – OMG I can’t wait to see that!!! I love those people that run that convention – it was so much fun hanging out there.
We did all the stuff we always do at cons – spend way too much money on autographs and photo ops, hanging around Mary’s table, because we could, talking to her every chance we got :-) I loved that feeling of just being near where she was, observing how she interacts with other fans.
50 per cent of this weekend was Mary, and I doubt I will ever love an actress as much as I love her, but the other 50 per cent was definitely getting to be with all the other fangirls. I don’t want to mention names, because I don’t wanna leave anyone out – but I love you girls – every one of you, both those I’ve met before and the ones I met for the first time this weekend. I wish you all lived closer so we could see each other more :-)
Thank you SO much for making this weekend so special and memorable.
This was probably not as coherent as I’d like, but I hope you got something out of it :-)
Now for graphics – 141 pics from the three panels – lighting sucked, but I got some good ones – though I HATE that big yellow mike!
