Firstly - thank you to all of you for your wondeful comments the other day when things sucked...and a special thanks to the anonymous giver for the virtual hug :-)
Do you have any idea how much better YOU can make me feel compared to many people in my so called 'real life'?? I love you people, pure and simple :-)
Now on to the last two days...Tuesday started witha dentist appointment; nothing terrible happened there, but I was scared shitless either way :-) - hen I went hoem a called my mom - she had been to see the doctor with her finger which in bad shape. So bad shape that the doctor had told her to go straigh to the hosptal and be admitted.....so that's what she was going to do. Said she'd call me when she knew anything new.
So I went on with my day and nothing happend - by 3.30 pm I was going crazy and called the hospital to hear where she was - she was still waiting to be admitted - and this was 5 hours later....She was ready for me to come help her :-) So I went and we waited a little more and finally a doctor came and said she had to spend at least one night at the hospital. She got a bed at orthopeadic and she was not happy - she was nervous and shaking and I convinced the nurse to give her something for it - good plan - that mellowed her right out :-)
But I didn't like leaving her there - my mother has never really been at the hospital before.....
Meanwhile my father had a stroke some 5 years ago and can't really take care of himself - so I had to make sure he got dinner and that my mother had everything at the hospital she needed - so that was a lot of back and forth - by the time I got home it was 10 pm and I just went staright to bed....because I knew I had to do it all again today.....
Started the day making sure my father's fridge was stocked for several days, because the night nurse had told us that if mother was getting IV anitibiotics she could possibly stay a week at the hospital - my father was very pale when I told him that....But I made him lunch, cleaned the kitchen and put up the laundry before going back to the hospital, where the doctor STILL hadn't been by to tell us what was going to happen.
Finally ten minutes before I had to leave he came by and said that they wanted to make a small cut and drain all that nasty infection out and wash it in saline - and then put her on antibiotics....in pill form, yay! That way she could hopefully go home today. And as luck would have it she was back home by 2 pm :-)
So now dad was happy, mom was happy, but sore, and I was happy - and they have plenty of food!
I felt the minute the adrenaline left my boy when I got out of the car at work and I have been tired ever since - probably lack of food. Because al though I take care of both my parents and run around shopping for them, I forget myself and I had no food yesterday and very little today.....
As a result my stomach's all tumbly now, and I'm dead tired - so even though it's only about 8.30 I'm gonna go to bed and hopefully have a normal day tomorrow :-)
*hugs the flist*
