Post number 100 is a Mary post :-)

Birmingham was the BEST weekend since Bournemouth and in some respects better. This time it was just Christina and me, which meant we could dedicate ALL our time to the fellow fangirls. We haven’t been able to do that on the last two trips.

Memorabilia was different than other cons I’ve been to – It was basically one huge dealer’s room with guests and panels and food and snacks and vendors all in the same room. That meant it was noisy and that did disturb some of the panels – but, hey, we made the best of it.

Mary’s table was next to this big Universal Pictures display that ran the same trailer show over and over again….ALL DAY – with the same 5 or 6 trailers, very loudly. Ironically that was the only place to sit down in the entire hall, so we hung out there.
I have no idea how Mary stood it those two days – at least the rest of us could go somewhere else :-)
I found it so random that Mary knew one of the songs was a Jefferson Airplane song - a personal little tidbit from her :-)

The SFBall was there with a booth, selling the Mary DVD from Bournemouth – OMG I can’t wait to see that!!! I love those people that run that convention – it was so much fun hanging out there.

We did all the stuff we always do at cons – spend way too much money on autographs and photo ops, hanging around Mary’s table, because we could, talking to her every chance we got :-) I loved that feeling of just being near where she was, observing how she interacts with other fans.

50 per cent of this weekend was Mary, and I doubt I will ever love an actress as much as I love her, but the other 50 per cent was definitely getting to be with all the other fangirls. I don’t want to mention names, because I don’t wanna leave anyone out – but I love you girls – every one of you, both those I’ve met before and the ones I met for the first time this weekend. I wish you all lived closer so we could see each other more :-)
Thank you SO much for making this weekend so special and memorable.

This was probably not as coherent as I’d like, but I hope you got something out of it :-)

Now for graphics – 141 pics from the three panels – lighting sucked, but I got some good ones – though I HATE that big yellow mike!

And just because I never did an Atlanta report here are a few good shots from there:

And

MUSIC – all those damn trailers!
Here are a few of the songs that kept repeating…

This is my post number 99 - one more to 100!!

I went back to work today....it went well even if it went slowly. It's been 10 days since I hurt my leg; I'm ready for it to be better, please....

It had better be better for the weekend, because BIRMINGHAM!
I hope it'll be fan girl palooza. Christina and I are traveling alone this time, so we don't have the non fan people with us :-) Gives us time to hang with the Mary girls (if they want to; attack of insecurity here...)

My parents' 50th wedding anniversary is getting closer. Three weeks! And then my mom can relax again :-)I can relax again. My sister has been fabulous with planning this. I think it's gonna be a good day.

I miss my muse - I wanna write....

Sometimes I really hate Messenger...
For the most part it's good - I love to chat with people, but sometimes when no one is there it makes you wonder....
Where IS everybody? Are they together? Are they doing stuff without me?? I hate that feeling. I'm usually wrong, but it still leaves me feeling...unsettled.

Saw 'Up' last night - what a wonderful movie - that goes on my DVD list when it comes out.
Shame on me for not recognizing Christopher Plummer's voice :-)

Also saw 'Fame' - that was less good - I wanted to know about the teachers than the talented kids and they crammed too much story into too short a movie....Loved Megan Mullally, but I kept thinking she reminded me so much of Mary that it could have BEEN Mary playing the role :-)

Oh My Gods, this show is awesome!
When soundtracks and DVDs come around I will invest :-)

So, does anyone know the name of the number Sue and Will were dancing swing to? - I know it, just not the name....

hey everybody

I'm still in Atlanta - sightseeing.
We've the aquarium, the world of coca-cola and the CNN headquarters. We've done a LOT of shopping and we're gonna see the Stone Mountain Park tomorrow.

I've only glanced over all the wonderful Mary posts, but I'll immerse myself in LJ when I get home Saturday morning :-)

I'll post all the pics we took as soon as I can :-)

Thank you all for an AWESOME con-weekend :-)

Okay - if there are no delays and such, in less that 24 hours I'll be getting off the plane in Atlanta. Then [info]christina1709  and I want to get nails done :-) Sleep is for the weak - who cares if we've just spent 10 hours on a plane - we want nails! And underwear - we're gonna raid a Victoria's Secret!

Then Thursday we're picking up [info]shakayla  and then we're gonna go register for Dragon Con.

Speaking of Dragon Con - Eddie needs to be kicked for canceling. I hope I can get my money back from Froggy for the photoshoot...

I can't wait to see all the Mary girls from Bournemouth and meet lots of new ones :-)

All in all I just look forward to vacation-time - see a lot of you in 3 days :-)

So Nicoline finished my New Caprica Red Dress for Dragon*Con today.
I'm VERY happy with the results - it's not perfect in color, but I didn't expect that.
I think this is going to look fabulous!

I just have to dye my hair red and I'm good to go !

I sure do have wider hips than Mary.......

I think today I need to buy Lotto numbers or some such thing.
When I put gas on the car, I have this little game where I try to guess how much gas the tank will hold and today I said to myself it’ll hold 36,17 liters. And wouldn’t you know when the tank was full it landed on exactly 36,17 liters – and no one was around to witness it!
Then my left palm iitched like crazy – and superstition says that when your left palm itches you’ll get money… So I need to go buy Lotto tickets :-)

I bought a Wii the other day – I really shouldn’t, I should save my money for Dragon Con or the cruise in February, but I couldn’t help myself and I love it – I’m almost pro in bowling and golf already – and boy does my arm hurt :-)

One of my colleagues has just come home from a cruise in the Caribbean and she said it was fabulous! And the boat didn’t rock at all, which is something I’m worried about – but she put me at ease. I have a feeling it’s gonna be a great trip and I bought the plane tickets last night – very cheap!

My muse needs to come back and finish all the stories I have started. I counted them yesterday and they are as follows:

3 Adama/Roslin stories
6 Janeway/Chakotay stories and a document with random ideas
1 Clarisse/Joseph story which will be fabulous if I ever finish it
1 Mary story that I may just be writing for myself :-)

Please come back, muse!!!

Work is fine – school’s starts Monday so all those hang-out kids won’t be here in the morning anymore – thank God! – I was getting a little tired of the sdsame kids hanging here, bugging me with stupid stuff.

Family’s fine – I went to a reunion over the weekend and got to see most of the cousins and all their kids.

22 days to my birthday and 27 days to we leave for Dragon*Con :-)

Oh and it’s HOT And I have to be inside at work…

I went to a Britney Spears concert on Saturday - yes I did, and I am proud! - lol.
Girl knows how to put on a show, I tell you. It was really good and she got all 40,000 of us on our feet. Great stuff. She even played a few of the good old songs, too :-)

A 44 year old woman stabbed her boyfriend to death on Tuesday two doors down from my apartment, and I didn't notice anything going on untill I heard it on the news. Strange experience, having it happen this close. When I went down later that day to get groceries, people were standing outside the building with flowers and such.....

I am almost done with season 3 of the West Wing now and I still like it. Hector Elizondo showed up in the episode I just watched and I let out a little squeal - didn't expect that :-)
Don't care how old he is; that man makes me tingle in my special place :-)

It's hot again - I wish we could do naked Thursday at the library, but I doubt my colleagues will agree, even if the boss is on vacation. Have to look through my wardrobe for something airy to wear tomorrow....

Well, I think that's about it - I'm gonna go take a cool shower and see if that helps with the heat.

*hugs her flist*

I hadn't planned on it, watching the Michael Jackson memorial service show thing, but I ended up watching anyways...
I was at my parents' and the tv was on and suddenly we all three were sitting there watching the whole thing - mom and dad needed me to translate the english - they don't speak it. And when Brooke Shields started talking I started crying - my mother was all like "are you CRYING!!??" And I was like "hell yes I'm crying - it's sad!" She kinda rolled her eyes at me. But then MJ's 12 year old daughter got up to speak my mother started crying too. Then we were BOTH crying and my father was looking at us like we were crazy.
Damn, the Americans know how to do a show and make us cry - in a good way....
It was a good show, I think.

I've finished the first season of The West Wing - I kinda like it, evn though I only get about 50 per cent of what's going on. I'm not much into politics - especially foreign politics. But I think I like it.
I like CJ Cregg.

Diana, honey - I hope you had a fabulous birthday - did you see how popular you are in the [info]queenschamber ?? You are definitely in the top three of the most popular people.
BIG HUGS and I love you!!!!

"If there is one person or more on your friends list who makes your world a better place just because they exist and who you would not have met (in real life or not) without the internet, then post this same sentence in your journal."

I have actually met a good portion of you in real life and I love that fandom and the internet makes it possible to know you.
Special love goes out to Diana, Tay, Susan and Christina!!!!
